Blooming with Generosity: Reflections on Our Second Anniversary Gala

As we stepped into the enchanting venue at the Dusit Thani Guam on that beautiful evening of Friday, April 12, 2024, we were overwhelmed with a sense of awe. Wildflowers adorned every table, beautifully arranged by Kat and her team from The Occasion. It was an atmosphere of sweet blooms and soft colors. A theme that represents not only the season but also because spring helps us look around at all these wildflowers; their basic needs are not demanding - a sunny spot and sturdy support help them thrive and grow where exactly they are planted. They are like scattered miracles. These wildflowers are perfect representations of these young women we support; they don't need much, just a sunny spot, and sturdy support will help them thrive and grow the miracle inside them.
Our goal last year was to create a home for Safe Haven and, ultimately, for the women and children who will be blessed by it. Last year, we raised $50,000.00 with your support, which funded the renovations on the residential phase of the facility. We are pleased to share that significant progress has been made, with the residential phase completed and the resource center being shaped. With new bathrooms, kitchen, paint, flooring, windows, doors, and ACs, we have added two rooms for emergency placements. This home will serve as a refuge for their trying times, a haven of celebrations, and although temporary, just like everything here on earth, we hope that it serves as a foretaste of our forever home in heaven.
This year, we have raised well over $55,000.00 and counting, as more donations are made. It was a night of pure generosity, celebration, and gratitude.
The Salt + Light Realty is more than just a real estate company; it's a platform that we use to transform lives, make a difference in our community, and bring hope to those who need it the most. With our commitment to seeking the welfare of our community, we have been able to support Safe Haven Pregnancy Center, a non-profit organization serving women with unplanned pregnancies in Guam. It's a tangible way to give back to our community, and we are grateful to be a part of it.
The silent auction was a highlight of the evening, with attendees eagerly bidding on everything from artwork to experiences. Each bid represented a step towards supporting a cause close to our hearts, reminding us of the power of collective generosity and compassion. It was beautiful to witness, filling our hearts with joy and hope.
As we savored the delicious food and enjoyed the captivating musical and dance performances, we couldn't help but reflect on the significance of this moment. The Salt + Light Realty's Second Anniversary Gala wasn't just a celebration—it was a testament to the strength of community, the beauty of giving back, and the importance of coming together to make a difference. It was a moment that we will cherish forever, a moment that will always remind us of the power of our island community and the importance of a unified mission.
As we celebrate yet another year, we look back at all the ways God reassures His will for us, giving us clarity in our vision, abilities to carry out our mission, and strength to uphold our purpose.
Under the waterfall of God's never-ending grace, people surround Safe Haven with love and help, and we marvel at the community's support. Thank you for being a part of this goal. Your contributions have been instrumental in providing the resources needed to complete the home for Safe Haven. We believe that your support will make a difference in these women's lives, and we praise God for empowering us to be of one mind and heart and accomplish a greater good. We pray that the seeds we sow will have an eternal impact.
